Times Newspaper Rights Grab
A photo competition advertised in The Times newspaper this weekend (15 August 2009 - timesonline.co.uk/photocompetition) has the following in its Ts & Cs of entry:

"9. Entrants will retain copyright and moral rights in their submitted images however, by entering, all entrants
a. grant TNL non-exclusive rights to edit, publish and use each entry to promote the competition which may include an online gallery or feature in The Times timesonline or in any other media or supplement, or similar future competition, during the competition and for a period of 5 years after the winners have been announced. "

The prize is a "masterclass" with David Noton, a leading landscape photographer. Hopefully he will be including a short lesson on copyright? Oh, and in the spirit of the Times newspaper's new philosophy, working for free?
